KG Cleaning Products
KG-1 Carbon Remover. KG-1 was the first product introduced to the shooting
sports industry to specifically meet the need to remove carbon buildup and
is the first step in the cleaning process.
KG-12 was developed to clean the copper fouling from large bore military
weapons. KG-12 will provide shooters with a product which will remove the
toughest of copper fouling without harming any other metal.
KG-2 was originally developed to maintain the bore integrity of sniper
rifles, Unlike most other products KG-2 contains no ammonia and uses a
mechanical method to remove the worst of copper and lead buildup and is the
second step in the cleaning.
The last step is to protect the firearm. KG-4 oil met the stringent
requirements set forth in the original Military Specification Mil-L-63460 D.

KG-1
is formulated as to be environmentally friendly. KG-1 contains no ammonia
recommended for use by several barrel makers. KG-1 is pH neutral and is
ideal for removing carbon from black powder rifles, and gas assisted
weapons.
Unlike
other etching, ammonia based cleaners; KG-12 will not hurt the metal of the
bore. There is no need to "neutralize" KG-12 as is required or recommended
with other ammonia based products and no need to "get it out quick" like
ammonia based enchants. KG-12 contains no ammonia. KG-12 is water based.
KG-12 contains no synthetics. Field tested on the 155 howitzers and other
large bore weapons with outstanding results. When used in conjunction with
KG-2, KG-3 and KG-4 you will find no better cleaning system on the market.
In
most cases KG-2 will perform exceptionally well in removing copper and lead
with quality patches. KG-2 does not need harsh brushes to help remove
copper and lead buildup. Nylon brushes are in fact recommended if a brush
is needed. Based on the theory of removing the copper and lead from the
lands and groves only while simply smoothing over the impregnated copper and
lead in the micro-fractures of the bore, KG-2 will help reduce the need for
fouling shots and is the reason it is recommended to be used by SWAT and
sniper teams. KG-2 is an ideal product for fire polishing (A technique
producing a finer finish than Fire Lapping). For those shooters who prefer a

It
is a blend of the finest lubricants available and contains no synthetics.
With very low surface tension, KG-4 exhibits excellent lubrication and
provides outstanding corrosion protection. KG-4 has the added property of
keeping current firing residue in suspension which allows for easier
cleaning. KG-4 has been field tested for endurance using 50 caliber machine
guns. Initially the 50s were experiencing stoppages at 750 to 1000 rounds.
After using KG-4 (CLP2) the guns were fired and stopped at 6000 rounds due
to heat and to clean the weapons.
